SIPA Products · Private equity-backed companies
Headline market benchmarks and PECCS®-segmented thematic indices for private equity-backed companies — built on one asset universe, one taxonomy and one factor model.
Every privateMetrics index is defined once as a family — a geography and a set of PECCS® screens — then published in local currency, USD, EUR and GBP, capitalisation- and equal-weighted. All series are monthly, all equity.
The two products publish the identical 52-metric set — they differ in what the index measures, not in what is reported about it.
Benchmark the asset class
Four headline benchmarks — private2000® and its US, European and Asia-Pacific counterparts. Broad, unsegmented, monthly, and the natural reference point for a private equity allocation.
Segment the market by PECCS
326 families cut by activity, lifecycle phase, revenue model, customer model, value chain, company size and geography — the full PECCS® taxonomy applied as index screens.

Product 01
Four headline benchmarks for private equity-backed companies — one global, three regional. No PECCS® screen is applied: these represent the investable universe as a whole, and are the reference against which the thematic indices are read.
| Index | Geography | Code | Frequency | History from |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| private2000® | Global | WRLD | Monthly | June 2013 |
| privateUS® | United States | US | Monthly | June 2013 |
| privateEurope® | Europe | EU | Monthly | June 2013 |
| privateAPAC® | Asia Pacific | APAC | Monthly | June 2013 |
All four start from the same date and share the same construction — the flagship private2000® is the global parent, with the three regional indices carved from the same universe.
Returns, risk, valuation, factor attribution and full PECCS composition — 44 of them as time series. This is the same set published on Thematic Indices.
Price level and the components of total return
Dispersion, tail risk and drawdown
Index-level multiples and margin
Six factors, each as a factor return and a contribution to index return
Each pillar published twice — weight in the index, and contribution to return
Where the index sits and how concentrated it is
Product 02
326 index families that cut the private equity universe along the PECCS® pillars — what a company does, where it is in its life, how it earns, who it sells to, how its value chain is organised, and how big it is. Activity is the primary screen; the other pillars are published as global cross-cuts against it.
Every family screens on at most two pillars. Activity screens run across all geographies; the remaining pillars are cut globally, crossed with activity.

Global dominates the geographic mix — 174 of 326 families — because every PECCS pillar other than activity is published globally only. Outside the global set, coverage concentrates in Western Europe, the US, Japan and China, taking the catalogue to 22 distinct geographies overall once the four Market Indices' regions are included.
The identical set published on Market Indices — returns, risk, valuation, factor attribution and full PECCS composition, 44 of them as time series.
