SIPA Certification
A product-line certification covering SIPA's four product lines — infraMetrics Equity, infraMetrics Debt, privateMetrics Equity and privateAlpha — each certifying in-depth working knowledge of a single product.
The SIPA Product Certification certifies in-depth working knowledge of the four Scientific Infra & Private Assets (SIPA) product lines. Unlike the SIPA Knowledge Certification, which is organised by depth of methodological knowledge (Entry, Intermediate, Advanced), this scheme is organised by product — a candidate may certify in one product line or in all four, in any order. Each product certificate is self-contained.
The intended audience is client-facing and analytical staff who must be able to describe a product accurately, state what data it provides and at what granularity, and match it to the correct client use case — strategic asset allocation, risk reporting, fund selection, or valuation. Each certificate pairs a required factsheet with a graded assessment: multiple-choice questions confirm precise recall of product facts, and open-ended questions test explanation and application to client use cases.
EQUITY
Unlisted infrastructure equity. What is an unlisted infrastructure equity investment worth, and what is its risk and expected return?
DEBT
Unlisted infrastructure (private) debt. What is the value, yield, spread and credit risk of private infrastructure debt?
EQUITY
Private equity (private companies). What is a private company worth, and what is the risk and performance of a private-equity segment?
ANALYTICS
Private-fund performance analytics. How much genuine alpha has a fund or GP produced, and how does it rank?
Each product certificate is assessed with two instruments:
Your name and email are required so a certificate can be issued on a pass, and so the SIPA team can follow up with any questions. Full results for every submission are sent to our certification administrator.
| Component | Weight | Pass threshold |
|---|---|---|
| Multiple-choice section | 50% | ≥ 75% correct |
| Open-ended section | 50% | ≥ 60% of available marks |
| Overall (per product) | 100% | ≥ 70%, with both sections above their floor |
Because this scheme certifies product knowledge rather than graded methodological depth, the multiple-choice floor is set higher than in the Knowledge Certification: a certified person is expected to know each product's facts precisely. There is no required order — certify in the product line relevant to your role, or complete all four.
